About the Stay-Awesome-License (SAL)

The mailcow Stay-Awesome-License (SAL) offers a way to actively support the mailcow project.

The mailcow project itself is fully open-source and can be used without restrictions. The SAL was created to provide users who value the project with an easy way to express their gratitude and contribute to its further development.

What is the mailcow SAL?

The mailcow SAL is not a traditional license or service but a voluntary donation. 100% of the proceeds go directly into the development and maintenance of the project, without deductions for platform fees or similar.

Benefits of the SAL

By registering the GUID generated by mailcow in the customer portal, users receive the following benefits:

1. Display of the donation level in the admin view of the mailcow user interface.
2. Access to external checks, such as the Open Relay Check.

Donation Options

The donation is completely optional and can be made flexibly starting from an amount of €5. Every contribution helps to keep the project open-source in the long term and to continuously develop it further.
